Who are the Yuma 4-Wheelers?

Our History:
The Yuma 4-Wheelers 4X4 (Yuma 4X4) Club was founded on March 21, 2005.

Who we are:
The Yuma 4-Wheelers (Yuma 4X4) is a "Trail Club" that is made up from a random collection of individuals, couples, single parents and families, brought together by a common interest, to use their 4X4's to go places and see things. We have members from all ages and walks of life.

What we do:
We are an active 4X4 club dedicated to representing all that is good for recreational 4-wheeling. Our club also is a steward of nature. We only travel on trails and washes legally open to 4-wheel drives.
We are serious about preserving the trails and lands we ride on. We are in full cooperation with the Yuma City Police, Sheriff's Offices of Yuma and Imperial Counties, Bureau of Land Management (BLM) and US Customs and Border Protection (Border Patrol). If we see someone breaking the law, or we see something suspicious, we will report it!

When do we do it:
The Yuma 4X4 Club has a run every 2 weeks, or when ever more than 4 vehicles can go, in all 4 seasons. So we are really a 4X4X4 club! The Yuma 4X4 Club is one of the few local clubs that offers this year-round enjoyment. In the cooler months (October to March) we meet at 8:30 AM and convoy to the trailhead at 9:00. In the hotter months, we beat the heat by running at night, or early morning.

What you need to have:
Anyone with an interest in 4-wheeling can join us. You don't have to own a 4X4, unless you plan to drive a rig on the Trail Runs with us. Then your rig must meet these requirements:
1. A well maintained 4X4 - Regular maintenance on your rig will help keep you going on the trail.
2. All drivers and rigs that run with Yuma 4X4 are required to be licensed and insured for highway driving under Arizona laws.
3. Rigs must meet the Yuma 4X4 Vehicle Requirements.

What you don't need:
Attitude - If you think the only rig worth driving is the one you drive, this club is NOT for you.
Experience - Beginners (Newbies) are welcome here.
Modifications - We have stock rigs and well modified rigs. We run a variety of trails that involve a variety of challenges. From dirt roads to difficult trails.

What you can expect:
Our runs are usually a manageable size (5 - 10 vehicles) and sometimes (not often) we reach the limit of 20 vehicles.
The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) enforces a rig limit of 20 vehicles and the Barry M. Goldwater Range (BMGR) has a loosely enforced 10 rig limit.
In any case, if you have more than the limit, a special use permit is required.
